We are delighted to announce that the 133rd Lawn Tennis Varsity will be held at North Oxford Lawn Tennis Club on 24-25 June 2023.
The Oxford and Cambridge tennis programs date back to the start of Wimbledon, and has hosted talents who have gone on to win The Championships! This promises to be a weekend to remember, with some thrilling, competitive tennis on show by our Men’s and Women’s Blues teamss. We look forward to welcoming as many of you as possible at this year’s match, where the women’s Blues are looking to avenge last year’s defeat, and the men's Blues looking to keep the Varsity trophy in Oxford.
Play will commence from 11:00 each day. The Varsity format is best of 21 matches (12 singles, 9 doubles) so expect a weekend of quality tennis. There will be excellent food options, including burgers, sandwiches, paninis, some pastas, and salad (all under £5!). The club bar will also open from 1pm, and there will also be a selection of teas, coffees, and cakes. Seating is limited, and spectators are welcome to bring their own portable chairs for their comfort.
Oxford will also host the Varsities of the second, third, fourth, and fifth teams on the same dates. What an exciting weekend for Oxford! The venues are the following, with play commencing from 11am for each:
